The Omiros Building, located in Bayonne, New Jersey, is poised to become one of the most exciting structures in recent New Jersey history. From the original concept of Paul Hriso, the building was designed by Stephen M. Kawalek, RA, PP of Kawalek + Kawalek Architects and incorporates monumental integrated artwork by world-renowned artist Omiros.

The Omiros Building can be described as a confluence of artistic, engineering and architectural talents. All aspects of proportion and esthetics along with the respect in the material provide a unique formal result. The building itself becomes a support for those monumental artistic mediums such as ceramics, stained glass and mechanized metal works. On it's facade, there is a ceramic panel of 9x35 ft. made up of 33 vertical rotating triangular ceramic columns which offer the observers a unique experience for three changing facades, each a different abstract color compositions of Omiros. The stones tiles for the ceramic panels are stones coming from the Volvic region of France. The tiles were fired by Omiros himself.
In the lobby of the building, there is yet another ceramic composition of Omiros, a wall fountain of 12x24ft. and a unique technical marvel where the water filtrates between the tiles at many levels. Also in the lobby, there is a unique stained glass pinwheel 'The Cyclochrome' of 16 ft. in diameter made up of four 5ft. diameter round stained glass windows by Omiros. The stained glass windows are encased in a steel structure and a spectacular supportive steel fork arm designed by Paul Hriso, in which rotates the stained glass wheel in front of a single five foot diameter oculus window. This provides many choices of colors in the lobby. Also, there is a number of very large mechanized metallic sculptures such a steel tree branches on which rotate over a 100 unique design steel gears. On the street side facade, there is a barometric exterior sculpture, as well as a large stellar compass sculpture on the rooftop, large enough to be seen miles away. These monumental art works were designed by a joint effort of Omiros, Paul Hriso and Jean-Malo Ribault, all of which convey a constant movement of shapes and colors in tune with the environment. As a result, the entire building becomes in itself a work of art and it is sure to become a landmark.
Other than Omiros's unique dynamic art pieces, notable features of the building include a facade clad completely in imported Ambrosia White granite and high-quality interior finishes such as granite floor tiles and frameless flush doors. The building will seek LEED certification based on the employment of numerous "green" construction elements, notable LED lighting and a ground-source heat pump system for heating and cooling, also known as a geothermal system. This system provides a mean of creating interior thermal comfort that far exceeds any other system in energy efficiency.
The Omiros Building also offers a fully usable rooftop garden.
The total area of the building equals 13,000 square feet, spread over four floors. Functionally, the Omiros building will serve as a holistic medical building which will provide the community at large with the latest scientific breakthroughs in 3D biofeedback graphic computer technology.
